Terms of Service

By accessing or using PeTrace ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users — pet owners, veterinary professionals, shelter staff, and administrators.

To create a PeTrace account, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
• Provide accurate and complete registration information.
• Maintain the security of your account credentials.
• Be responsible for all activity under your account.

Professional accounts (veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, shelters, rescues) require additional verification. By applying for a professional account, you represent that you are a licensed veterinary practice or registered animal welfare organization and that the information in your application is true and accurate.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information, including falsified veterinary records.
• Impersonate another person, pet owner, or veterinary professional.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or pet records.
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission.
• Upload malicious code, malware, or illegal content.

Verification: Professional accounts are subject to review and approval. We verify license numbers, practice addresses, and professional credentials. Approval is at our sole discretion and may be revoked if information is found to be false.

Verified records: When a licensed veterinarian adds or verifies a pet health record through an approved professional account, that record is marked as "Verified." Verified status indicates that a licensed professional has reviewed and confirmed the record. PeTrace does not independently verify the accuracy of individual health records beyond confirming the professional's credentials.

Professional conduct: Veterinary professionals using PeTrace are expected to maintain the same standard of care and professional ethics as in their physical practice. Abuse of verification privileges — including knowingly verifying false records — will result in immediate account termination.

Your content: You retain ownership of all data, records, documents, and content you upload to PeTrace ("User Content"). By uploading, you grant PeTrace a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and those you authorize.

Data accuracy: You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. PeTrace is a record-keeping platform, not a medical device or diagnostic service. We do not validate the medical accuracy of user-entered records.

Public information: You control what is visible on your pet's public scan page (accessible via QR tag or microchip lookup). PeTrace is not responsible for information you choose to make publicly visible.

The PeTrace platform, including its code, design, branding, and infrastructure, is owned by PeTrace and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission. "PeTrace" and the PeTrace logo are trademarks.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PeTrace shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunity.
• Damages resulting from inaccurate or incomplete health records.
• Damages resulting from reliance on information in the Service.
• Actions taken or not taken based on information in the Service.

PeTrace is a record-keeping and communication platform. It is NOT a substitute for professional veterinary care. In an emergency, always contact a qualified veterinarian immediately.

Our total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

By you: You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in conduct that harms the Service or other users. We will provide notice and an opportunity to appeal unless immediate action is required to prevent harm.

PeTrace integrates with third-party services including Clerk (authentication), Neon (database hosting), Cloudflare R2 (file storage), and Resend (email delivery). Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. PeTrace is not responsible for the availability or practices of third-party services.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email and/or in-app notice at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.
